Philosophy

Research shows that young soccer players learn from both the game and the coach. The SSA combines coachinginstruction methods as well as the street soccer model. Coaching and instruction is used to teach new skills, introduce tactical ideas, or motivate players. The street soccer model, on the other hand, is utilized by the players to inspire creativity, develop better decision making, and increase game ownership.

The Street Soccer Model:

This model is a free flowing game played by all players using simplified rules. This game is no different from a pick up basketball or flag football game played in neighberhoods around the USA. It helps youngsters develop game ownership. The street soccer model simply limits coaching and promotes creativity and confidence. The driving forces behind the street soccer game are enjoyment, competition, and friends and peers.
